Big Leak And Needed Replacing After 2.5 Years! Mar 30, 2016

We had this water heater (Amtrol Hydromax HM-80) installed as part of a remodel in Dec 2013. Over the weekend (end of June 2016) it started a fountain out of the top and was getting everything around it soaked. Called service Monday morning, they said, yup, seen this before. Needs full replacement which is covered by the 7 year warranty however, their labor at $700 is NOT covered. I'm pissed. Also questioning what better brand we should buy. I have a large auto repair shop in upstate NY that was like an icebox every winter.... until we installed this unit! Now it easily warms up the shop and keeps it that way. I replaced my old Modine heater, with a new Modine heater and it works great. The old one, the only thing that went wrong with it, was one of the fan blades broke in half . The old one , didn't owe me nothing, I had it in my shop for 38 years.

I actually bought 5 Pensotti Wall Panel Radiators, 3 of the 20" x 24" and two of these 20" X 48" units. They are replacing hot water baseboard heaters in a basement apartment. These heaters are stylish, extremely efficient and are priced very nicely. Installation was a snap using the included hardware, HOWEVER, I highly recommend purchasing an extra set of brackets for the 20" x 48" heater due to its weight. Love the Schluter products. I have used the Kerdi llner for years and attended a technical training in VA. Have learned that the 32"x60" Shower Kit is available from my local Home Depot for $499 + tax. Free shipping is nice but I'm at the home improvement stores every day. Probably won't buy on-line again unless the pricing is lowered. Thanks for the opportunity to review
